Renegade w/ Game Spy Arcade problem [message #436087]

I installed Renegade on my PC after I got it working (I posted earlier today). However, when I click on the Renegade button on the left, it says that it is downloading configuration files...however, the internet is not busy (or the button meaning that it is downloading is not blinking) and the "downloading configuration files" will sit there for hours and not do anythign until I hit the cancel button...any ideas what the problem could be? Thx

This should be moved to the Renegade client support section, but basically I had the same issue a couple of months ago (on Windows 7) after a clean install of Renegade. Im not sure if GSA is no longer supporting Renegade, but after trying for a month of accessing Renegade servers through it, I have up and uninstalled it. I'd recommend just connecting thro WOL instead, or Renegade Resurrection if you really need to.

And I do know that GSA still supports Renegade because on our 2 other computers at home (XP home edition and windows 7) GSA works with Renegade. I will just log into Renegade with West Wood Online.

Use renlist or rr instead of gayspy. Last time i used gamespy was back in 2003 lol. If you really want to use gayspy then right click renegade and go to options check the renegade directory and thir might be a option to disable the auto config thing.
