I need a good and reliable fan for my processor. I have a Core i7 930 chip, LGA 1366 slot.

I usually buy my stuff on newegg, but when it comes to heatsink I'm not sure which brand is good.

Anyone got any ideas?

Below is a link to the newegg page.

Depends on how much you're willing to spend.

I recently had an Artic Freezer Pro which cost me £17 ($25-$30) which kept my cpu relatively cool. When I started to overclock it didnt keep my cpu as cool as I wanted so I went out and bought a Scythe Ninja 3 which cost me £39 and its here on NE for $50 which is quite cheap.

If your case doesnt have a slot in the back for aftermarket coolers then you will have to remove your motherboard to fit this cooler.

Hope it helps

If you don't want to spend too much, then my vote is for the Coolermaster Hyper 212+. It competes very well with coolers two or three times its price, and includes all the accessories required to mount a second fan. I use it on my Phenom 955, and it manages to really keep my CPU really cool under load.

If you're willing to spend some more cash, then the Thermaltake Frio is what you should check out as it comes with two very good fans, and excellent cooling performance.

Whichever cooler you buy, be sure to get a good thermal paste. I prefer OCZ Freeze as it's really good, but Arctic Silver 5 is also very popular.

Thanks guys, yeah price isn't a huge issue. Most of the one I've been researching are around $50 and higher.

Is this fan good? Link below...

Well going by the reviews it's a good cooler however I think it might be a bit over the top. If you aren't planning to seriously overclock your system then a simple cooler like the Artic Freezer Pro or the Cooler Master N520. Many of the sub $40 coolers perform just as well, albeit 2-3 degrees here and there.

Agreed, that seems a bit over the top. Plus, the extra electronic hoopajoops only make it more complicated in case something goes wrong.
