I was talking with someone today that i know, the oilspill has pretty much been cleaned up, the hype about a complete environmental disaster has turned out to be complete bullshit.

Funny that.

Once it was capped for 3 days i knew it would turn out to be bullshit. Many people should have known maybe even before then.

The BP spill? I don't know where they heard that. The surface oil, yes, that can be dealt with. But one only needs to dig into 15 inches of sand or so on an affected shore to see the trademark orange pigmentation of oil. That's where the shellfish like clams and mussel's live, which is food for many of the avian species. You can only really clean what can be 'seen;' armed with a shovel, and a UV light, the scope of the pollution is way more immense than the naked eye can see.

Valdez is still reeling from the damage, and they estimate 20,000 barrels of oil are in the vicinity, in the ecosystem, lots of it as toxic as it was when it drained off the tanker.

Not everything is as it appears

It's kinda funny. Now that the well is caped and the damage isn't so bad no one says shit about BP's efforts.

I personally think they did an amazing job of dealing with their fuck up. There are not a lot of companies who would have funneled that kind of cash and taken responsibility for their mess these days.

Some times we need to learn lessons as a country the hard way.
