Not quite. I definitely wouldn't call the i3 shit since I was using a single-core P4 processor up until a few months ago. >:[
I've got an i5 750 @ 2.67 and it runs like a dream. GTA IV on the highest settings reasonable for my video card and it still doesn't bottleneck my CPU or anything.
