All right... when I try to log in to Westwood online it just gives me the same crap message, which I have attached to this thread.

And RenGuard gives me "Error: 00000005".

I am installing Renegade using the Decades pack.
I run Vista.

Thank you.

Please check the sticky topics with FAQ in the "renegade client" and the "renguard" subforum. Both your questions are answered in there.

Okay, so, reinstalling my game is clearly not the answer.
Dob't have linux.
Serial changer, whatever that was, didn't do crap.
My serial is a LEGAL serial, I bought the damn game.

So, long story short, nothing here work. And I got tired of fucking with it, and decided to play some Yuri's Revenge. This time I got a ***FATAL*** warning of some sort.

Is there no one that can help?
I say again, I run Vista, legal copy, tried that Run as Administrator thing too.

No mate, its your install.
This happened to everyone of my games in TFD.

Reinstall, input the serials as fast but proper as you can.
If that doesnt work;

Try only installing renegade.

I have reinstalled it a few times now, first time I only installed Renegade, second time all of it, third time Renegade and RA2/YR, and now just Renegade again.

I will try it once more, trying to install it as fast as I can, and post tomorrow if it works.

If anyone else has any ideas, I'd greatly, greatly appreciate it.

Sigh... how hard is it to read a FAQ sticky???

Problem

When I go online, I get a message "incompatible version of Westwood Online (WOL)

Solution

Normal Renegade

If you have normal ren (not the first decade), this is usually because you installed an older C&C-game (red alert 2, for exemple) after renegade and you installed WOL for it.

It will then install an older version of WOL over the renegade version and you'll get an incompatibility message.

To solve this, just launch the setup on the install disc and only select the WOL components to be installed. It'll reinstall WOL and your problem should be solved.

The First Decade version of Renegade

Download this and run it and select only "WOLAPI" install. It will install the latest version of WOL.

I just wanted to add to this to let you know/remember to REBOOT your pc after your installs , so the changes you make "take" or you will just keep saying ..."it didnt work".

good luck to ya man.

I guess it would take a retard like trooprm02 to think that he'd accomplished something by pointing out what everyone already knows about.
