Only a guess but perhaps some part of WMP is being used to play that video on your browser

how about google? possibly a wmp sync issue with a memory card or usb devcice. I read somewhere that it caused problems like that on vista already.

if you use anything like Logitechs G15/19 or anything that hooks to the media player, it keeps playing cause its a known bug, that they havent fixed, and its microsofts problem, not logitec in my case, cause i can use play/stop at my keyboard, but theres alot of posts on ms forums and other places taking this issue up, only good thing is to press "Stop" inside the player before closing, or stop using it, use VLC or something. And in Win7 (maybe vista) theres an option in control panel to take off the hooks, fixing some issues.

Ohh and btw you cant stop the wmp process too, it just restarts Thumbs Up

Heres how i fixed it, cause my Logitch G19 hook'd it
Open CONTROL PANEL

Double click/Search for WINDOWS SIDESHOW

Uncheck anything that has to do with WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER

What we think, or what we know, or what we believe is, in the end, of little consequence. The only consequence is what we do.

I too occasionally get this bug, Kimb is probably right since I have a G15.
