I am under a connection through DSL through wireless adapter and the computer connected directly to the adapter(the one i use the most) has issues loading a page (showing "Oops! this link appears to be broken" or the page could not be found) this is fixed sometimes after refreshing once. On the other hand some pages take 10+ times.(LITERALLY) When a computer/My 360 is connected trough the adapter Wireless it runs perfectly find no issues with lag(360) or the broken link or page could not be found.(computer)Anyone know why this is happening? Is more information needed to help?

Edit: I use google chrome, have tried clearing cache and cookies, and know for a fact the sites are not down.

I get something quite similar. A refresh of the page usually fixes it, and it's no problem.

I've had it once where it took a few hundred clicks to get the page, so I know where you are coming from, but it's probably not too common to be a big deal.

This sometimes happens at our school. Unfortunately I have no idea why it happens Huh

Take your internet, and put it in the microwave for about 30 seconds.

You need to turn the DNS Client service on.

Windows Key + R

msconfig

Tick DNS Client

Restart computer

Then do ipconfig /flushdns in CMD.

When you follow these steps and are looking for the tick box for "DNS client", you need to select the Services tab, by default you'll see the General tab.

What wireless adapter have you got, as in strength it might be overpowering what your router can take.

Just a thought: Have you tried checking the ethernet cable for damage or swapping it for another cable for comparision? I am assuming from your first post that the problem is with a computer using a wired connection, while devices connected wirelessly are working properly.

It could simply be that the ethernet cable is damaged or faulty and therefore the DNS packets are not always getting through. You didn't mention whether you experience intermittent problems with other online activities (such as gaming etc) on the computer in question, these would also be symptoms of a faulty cable and if you DON'T have them then this is almost certainly not the problem.

I haven't tried another Ethernet cable when i find a ride to a store I'll buy a different one (terrible how we don't have spares in a household that keeps all wires/cords for later use)

As for problems i have noticed:

Starcraft-Cant host due to latency

Renegade-normal ping is 64 but recently has been averaging at 100-200 causing lag (in any server i have joined)

Youtube and TBS-videos will not load correctly/load slowly

It could be your ISP's fault because they are updating something. I had similar issue when tiscali was bought out by talktalk, it was slow for quite some time...

It wouldnt be this, his other computers which use the same internet connection aren't experiencing any problems.

I doubt its the Ethernet cable but its always a possibility. Didnt your 360 come with a Ethernet cable?

Try updating firmware/drivers.

Yeah I know, But couldnt you move the router/computer closer to each other so you can test out the Ethernet cable theory? Saves you spending money on a new cable when it might not be the problem.

To do that i would have to completely move EVERYTHING aside from the monitor... and that's really a pain in the ass.... besides i borrowed one from a friend to test it... i'll get back to you when i do
