I'm surprised I never heard about this when it started years ago. Wicked idea and amazing journey and outcome for this guy.

Dont get it.

The gist of it is that he began by trading a red paper clip for a fish pen, and about 14 trades later, he ended up with a house in Saskatchewan.

Great story though.

Yea it is cool the guy gets a house in the end... but the whole thing was really just for publicity for all involved parties. Even the way the guy put as relative value or whatever... it still doesn't quite add up. There are a million red paperclips out there, they don't equal houses in 14 trades... The only way this was possible is because people with way too much of something or another wanted to make it known.

Kinda like the other thread about the idiot that wasted 6 million on a home theater that looks like shit (the speaker setup), and judging by his loveseat in the middle of it only 2 people make use of it.

Ahh it all makes sense now! This guys local to me here. Doesn't live very far away. Local beer companies always do a "salute to kipling and their red paperclip" in their radio ads.
