My KBPS is low!! [message #41164]

Why is my KBPS so low? At times it reaches 130kbps and at other times its a measly 30kbps. Its driving me nuts. Should I strangle my buddy, who just happens to work for the company that supplies my cable bandwidth or is this a problem within my home? I have an RCA modem, a LinkSys router and so on and so forth. Also, when I connect to westwod online it clocks my connection as being between 57760 & 128K but a month or 2 ago was getting consistent 512K - 1 or 2 mb connection. WTF is going on? Regardless of the answer I have decided to smack around my buddy cuz it will make me feel better Very Happy

BTW: My ping is always around 100, sfps 40ish fps 40ish, at least on the fastconn server

it doesnt matter whether i have anything runing or not, my kbps still jump but I just tested my connection on DSLREPORTS.com and heres what came up:

kbps is all down to the server.. - how big the server is..

If your in say a 10player game, yeh it will be around 30kbps..
If your in a 50 player game, it will be somewhat 150kbps..

lol, mine shows up better than i thought my Connection was. 4 MB down, 512kb Up Very Happy

It drives me nuts cause it fluxuates. Before Comcast came to town and took AT&T my cable connection was awesome. never once did it go out and I always had at least a 1MB connection when I connect to WOL. now I never get over 115600K ffs!!!! and yet, when I test my internet connection it reads somewhere between 2.5-3.5MB download and 200-300KPBS upload. from here on out, I see a Comcast repair-man van drive by im running it off the road :twisted: :twisted: :twisted:

Yep same to me, Comcast screwed up mine real bad... I used to get pings in the 30's on some servers! I cant find a server under 300 now a days... As soon as they took over my pings skyrocketed and stayed there... I miss the good ol days owning Devinoch's House with a ping of 50... Sniff... Now I can't even slightly own say... Beacon Pedastal with a ping of 300... how depressing... Curse you Comcast!!!!!!!! CUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURSE YOU!!!!!!!!!!! *Dramatic Zoom Out Panning Upwards*
