I use free aim out in the open as it does not move the camera, helping with focusing more on the target a lil bit... At least it seems to for me.

You're aiming the wrong way, then...the twitchy way Renegade characters move makes it 100% impossible to lock onto an opponent who's dodging rapidly and it certainly is easier to adjust your crosshair with the help of your movement keys than solely with your mouse - you can't do the former with V. This works for all automatic weapons. Sniping is just a matter of predicting your opponent's movement and having him walk into your crosshair, plus the occasional flicker-shot on first contact.
