I know when I installed my mouse drivers, my scroll wheel was set to 'minimize.' So I'd try to scroll a web page, and it would go into my taskbar.

I have it configured via the logitech tool it comes with that is the thing. For instance my side buttons are set to forward and backward and my middle button is set to f5. None of them are set as escape yet that is what Ren sees them as. I use just about every button on my mouse for CoD (for example) and it works great. I'll have to check the windows settings - I thought the logitech settings over road the windows ones.

Hmm, usually when a game doesn't play nice with the extra buttons on my mouse I use the mouse's tool to reassign the buttons to some random key I rarely press like the brackets ][.

If the game still won't acknowledge the mouse buttons when you try to configure your key settings in the game menu, try pressing the original key instead and then test it in-game? So instead of pressing mouse 3 to assign to free aim, press the [ key (or whatever key you assign). Then see if it works in-game or not because the logitech signals should indeed overrule what Windows sees or what the game thinks it sees.

I haven't actually tried that because it never occurred to me to assign free aim to my extra mouse buttons because I rarely use it due to it messing up my strafes by taking the use of my index finger. In retrospect this is genius and I'm going to go do it now.
