yep... fraps is a "fps-eater".
fraps waste like 20fps, and if you record to an external hd, you can lose again 20-30 fps. Angry

if you set the video size to half size it lags less (i think it's set already in the trial version). But you could use other software that records lower quality

yep, but you need atleast a game resolution from 1024x768 (or above) for half size recording. i record full size on 800x600.
with a game reso of 800x600 the half size video looks really crap.

if i finished the clip i save it as a 1024x768 HD mpg file. you get then a real big file (i.e. the com match video jelly vs wittebolx, it was 1,3Gb big) then i use a converter (FormatFactory) to convert the vid to mp4. its 130Mb big now.
