Well i could tell my custom system which runs crysis at MAX (so UT3 also ^^)
It was a pretty cheap system (compared to what it can do and i can't complain about what i can do with it. My brother has the same and he also can't get enough of this config )
Video card: NVidia GeForce 9800GTX+
RAM: 4GB DDR2 RAM
CPU: Intel Core2Duo E8500
Chassis: CoolerMaster Elite 333 ATX
Power: Coolermaster RealPower Pro 520W, Modulair Retail
Motherboard: ASUS P5QL Pro, Intel P43, GB-LAN
HD: Samsung Spinpoint 1TB
CD: Sony AD7200S DVD-/+RW, DL, SATA
Accessors:
Mouse: Logitech G5
I payed ~ €785,- for this system AND i even got 2 games for free with it! Not bad eh? (FarCry2 and Assasins Creed)

Building my own computer seems a little intimidating. I can think about it, though. Will this computer run those sorts of games?

The PC you linked to will. So will one for half the price if you build it yourself. It's fun to do as well!
Also: The network card they offer is pretty much useless. You'll get more or less the same ping with it. If you're ping/KBPS lagging, upgrade your connection.
I'd still recommend WindowsXP or Win7. NOT Vista. (He says, posting from Vista x64 Home Premium)
They also don't tell you whose motherboard they're using, which is a bit "meh".
TBH, at $800, therefore ~ £500, I could build something better.
I really must re-iterate that I would recommend building your own, but the answer to your question is, yes, that will run those games. (The PC doesn't even have an I7!)
Renguard is a wonderful initiative

See the problem I see with building my own is I am stupid. I would mess something up, however, SSnipe that sounds like you are getting more (ex 6 GB DDR3) for your set-up.
Can someone point me in the right direction of building my own?

Haven't heard much about iBuypower but they have some really competitive prices on newegg.com for their prebuilt computers.
Building a PC isn't too hard, but it can be challenging to the newcomer. Plus, you need to spend time doing some research on the hardware in order to make an informed choice. I've done it myself quite a few times and it's easily understandable to see why people would rather buy something that will just turn right on.
Gateway sells gaming systems through Tigerdirect and here's an example. It has two more cores than the Alienware, a competitive video card, and a few other features. Also, Tigerdirect carries a lot of refurbished Gateway PC's, so just search the site and see what you dig up.
I'm likely going to catch hell for this, but Dell has an outlet for refurbished gaming systems so you may find some good deals in there too.
I'd also suggest scouring your local Craigslist because lots of people sell gaming systems they've built on there for good prices. Just head into the 'for sale' section for computers, and search for 'gaming' or 'gamer' and see what you come up with.
The people on these forums are very knowledgeable about building PC's so if you want to consider that route, just say how much you want to pay, what you want to do with your computer, and any other bits of info you think would help.

Thank you, nikki. I really like the one from tigerdirect.com. Will this be able to play UT3, Crysis, and Fallout 3 with ease? Will it also be able to handle online multiplayer?
A pre-assembled computer is what I would prefer. Even if it is a bit more.
I searched on Cragslist and this is the only deal available in my city. Would you suggest going this route? It also mentions that the item is just a base model, so I am assuming he/she can build up better gaming rigs.
By the way, I would probably put my budget around $1,500.

The Gateway will play UT3 and Fallout well, and it'll easily handle multiplayer like it's nobody's business. Crysis may be a bit more of a problem, but all PC's struggle with it. The performance you want will depend on your components, screen resolution, and the amount of eye candy you'd like. This goes for all computers, and is part of the challenge of buying one, and it gets even more finicky if you aim to build one.
One thing I would like to mention is that the Gateway may be more limited in terms of future upgradeability like newer video cards because the power supply may not be too expandable. I'd look up the model on Google and see how people do in the upgrade department with it.
What the dude on Craigslist is pitching isn't terribly impressive, and you can do better if you go through a large company or build it yourself.
For $1,500, you can build yourself a real beast though, and if you're game for a powerhouse that will last you for quite a while, with a lot of upgrade options, then I'd see what people here can suggest for you too. There's a new Intel platform just around the corner which looks to be very impressive, so if you can wait for a couple weeks, then you may get more value for your dollar!

Well, then I am open for suggestion on what I should do. I can wait. If I were to get the Alienware, I was going to wait anyways until they load their computers with 7.
So anyways, what should I do with $1,500 that could handle high performance games such as Crysis, or as powerful as I could manage on this budget?

This is a good idea of what about 1,500 can net you right now, if you build one yourself:
http://www.techspot.com/guides/187-buying-guide-200908/page4.html
Keep in mind they also include monitor, speakers and other things like a sound card in the price, so you can decide if those are needed. If they aren't, you can probably save some money, or put the difference to an SSD.
Of course, there's always new stuff coming, but I think this is a good starting point for researching parts, and such.

That site isn't loading for me atm.
I am assuming by SSD you mean Solid State Drive. What are the differences between that and a regular HDD. I have seen a demo on the PS3 and loading was faster, but is there other advantages?

Building your own is easy (until something goes wrong, but that's what these support areas are for )
The advantage is you get a system to your specs, the disadvantage is you then find you could get something similar for about half the price (like once I'd built mine!)
If you can use a screwdriver, read a manual and recognise what plug fits what slot then you're pretty much laughing
No flashy signature..

Well, then I really want to get a SSD then.
However, I don't think I have the patience to build a computer. I barely had enough patience with Legos, so I never build what the box showed.
Are there any other deals besides the ones listed above?
Is there a place I could get something like the setup shown here pre-built?

I checked iBuyPower's website, and you can customize a 'Gamer Paladin F725 with a Core i7, Radeon 4890, 1TB Hard Drive, 64GB SSD, a good case (CM HAF 922) and Corsair power supply for $1468. But remember that likely won't include tax or shipping.
You can configure one here: http://www.ibuypower.com/Store/Configurators.aspx?mid=375
Cyberpower also does Core i7 Systems, and their starting point is actually very reasonable: http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/system/Core_i7_Configurator/
The configurators look scary though, because of the shit-ton of options.
Or, on newegg, you can check out:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883113101
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883229107
The Gateway and Cyberpower ones both look pretty decent, especially for the price. Just maybe double check with Cyberpower that their model comes with a Radeon 4890 and not a 4870. Neither have an SSD though, which isn't too big of a deal.

The one I configured from iBuyPower would be, in my opinion, pretty fucking awesome. It'll blast through everything, at a great resolution. You'd be getting great FPS' and eye candy at HD (1920x1080) resolution for most games.
You'll likely need to watch out how you configure the drives though, because you want them to install Windows onto the 64GB SSD.

Yeah, I believe that's how it's supposed to go.
I kinda wish this thread could be in General Discussion, because there are people on this site that are really awesome with this stuff, and could give better help than me.
