For people who don't like breaking their neck: http://img502.imageshack.us/img502/6244/seededbracket11doubleco.jpg

We will use this type of bracket since we got 11 signups.

According to the results of the seeding, the 6 communities with the lowest votes will be randomly placed in the bracket's left part. The winners of these matches will advance to the remaining 5 communities' position in the bracket for the next 4 matches.

This is as fair as it can get with the uneven amount of communities we have.

This is just plain silly. There has to be some other way, I don't think anyone wants a bye, I sure as hell don't.

There is an odd amount of teams what did people think was gonna happen? If you want to play more games dont vote for ur community, if u really care about getting a bye for some reason vote for yourself?

Not a big deal.

Seeding isn't my problem. But the way it's being seeded is. It's all about numbers here. Say for instance a small community is better than a big community, the big community will get the better seed due to the numbers instead of skill. Instead it should be a closed panel of the leaders and 2 rep's from each community. Then we seed from there. This is just unfair, some people can vote who probably have never even played Renegade a day in their life.

Well considering more than 50% of Jelly players are actually CW players that don't feel like playing with the newer cw players, I'll vote for them.

I would like to remind you all that the amount of votes do not equal skill. This is purely to get the tournament started. We cannot just put all eleven names in a randomizer and give the first 5 communities a free advance. These votings give a somewhat more accurate results. No-one said these results would be 100% accurate, but this is the best thing we can do in the 11 team double elimination tournament.

But you could just use a randomiser to give 1 team a "bye" instead of allowing it to be the community with the most members gets a bye.

There is another way we can do this.

#1, #2, #3, #4, #5 seeds get a bye.
#8 vs #9
#7 vs #10
#11 vs #6

Here is a visual so you can all see what I mean:

http://www.printyourbrackets.com/11seededdoubleprint.html

You could say this is a more fair way of doing it.

Meh if anyone gets a bye I think we should limit it to 1 team.

I'd like this idea if it didnt get so complicated towards the end of the turnament..
1 team gets a bye, so there's 5 games in the first round.
After the first round, there's 6 teams left, so 3 games...then after that only 3 teams. How do we sort out the last 3 teams?
We could have them face each other like this:
Team 1 v Team 2
Team 1 v Team 3
Team 2 v Team 3
and hope 1 team beast the other 2, and if not, like all the teams go 1-1, base it off base desctructions and such? idk, the 11 teams makes it difficult.

If you think we're doing this just to get OUR communities a free win, you are seriously wrong.

I'd rather want to play matches. I'd like to thank you all for the feedback and either Mr.Mom or I will come back at you after discussing this matter. Everything remains the same until further notice.

That is the best way to do it for 11 teams. Just use a randomizer for the seeding (no voting). Yes some teams will have to play more games (whether you see that as good or bad) its just how an 11 team bracket works without making it too complicated.

Or have what alfonso was saying and have a 3 team round robin at the end

there are players on the jelly team that have been a part of that community for years, if not from the very start; they could very well play for either clanwars or jelly

clanwars.cc has fallen apart, but jelly has been moving along for years, so you could say it makes more sense for them to represent something that's still there

i don't really see cw.cc as a community because it doesn't even have a specific server that it's centered around; if anything it's a league
the term community is pretty loose so it's easy to argue otherwise, but it's still something to think about

don't worry about it, the cw.cc team is still set to win Big Ups

nah cw.cc team that signed up prolly won't even turn up most of the time. I bet they will not have enough players for at least 2 matches. All that will remain of the team that does turn up is the guys the jelly team could beat easily.

Ok I think I found a pretty good solution to all of this. We are going to disregard the poll of the seedings. We are going to use a bracket in the format of the #1 seed gets the bye, but there are not going to actually be any seeds in the tournament. I am going to draw the communities out of a hat/randomizer. So lets say the first 2 communities picked were TSU and -SoQ-. They would be one of the first round matches. Lets say the next 2 communities picked were Jelly and Atomix. They would be another one of the first round matches. This would continue until there was one community left and that community will get the bye for the first round.

An example of what the bracket looks like:

http://baseball.dixie.org/Assets/dixie+boys+baseball/pdf/Boys11Bracket.pdf.pdf

In this bracket "Team K" would have been the last team out of the hat and therefore gets the bye.

Sounds like a fair solution to me. And in responce to ur question, I think it's safe SoQ does not want the bye, but Locky is the official voice on that matter.
