Hi...I was wondering if anyone could help me. I have cable modem and I have a DL speed of 1675 kbps and a upload speed of 253 kbps according to DSLreports.com ( I love that site) Smile I have done the tweak tests and set all the recommendations it suggests.

Here is my problem....I have been making dedicated servers for 8 people and then it seems someone lags out and then EVERYONE in the game is booted. I reduced it down to 6 people and have Net Update Rate at 5 and still have the problems. I have Windows XP, 2.0 MHZ P4 chip, 1G of DDR Ram. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks Smile

Probably....its Comcast Cable. I have usually had good luck with them and very little down time.

It's your upload speed that counts. 256k is the bare minimum for 8 players and normally is only stable for 4 players. In reality you need dedicated line for proper hosting. Residential DSL and cable are not normally adequte due to the traffic at you exchange. You can probably get away with 4 players with no lag at the most.

I was hoping to do at least a 6, but it seemed I still had the booting everyone problem even with just 6 people.

i can host 10 stable no lag on mine with 256k upload.. but its a sniper one Wink

Damn, I have comcast too and my dl isnt that much mine is 526 kps.
