This might not be related to what you're talking about but I noticed sometimes when you visit the westwood FTP you are directed to some other FTP with useless EA stuff on it. Huh

Yeah... that does look to be what I was thinking of.
The FTP is usually located at ftp.westwood.com/pub looking at where you are makes me think you were redirected to different FTP because there is no "westwood" directory on the regular FTP.
