I recently bought a new gaming mouse, and I'm wondering if there is any way to assign the extra buttons on the mouse in Renegade. I can't assign it through in-game options, and I don't exactly know what I should put in through keyconfig for 4th and 5th mouse button identifier. Anyone know anything about this or is it even possible?
Sorry if its been asked before, I used search and it didn't show anything :/ or I'm just retarded when it comes to search

Yes I've been using the middle button as my 2ndary fire.. I'm wondering about the 4th and 5th buttons on the side of the mouse, if it can be assigned in Renegade

Is it a logitech mouse? Most 5 button mice come with a program that allows you to assign the buttons for different programs to different keys. When you click a button, it will then be as if you clicked that key.

well its not logitech, but ill try that program. I just found a free program that works with all kinds of mice, so I tried it out. I set one of the buttons to Q then set Q to alt. fire.
if I chat, and I press the 4th mouse button it types Q, but if I just press it, it doesn't work for alt. fire.. :S the program seems to work fine with everything else though.

If the free program you got isn't 'AutoHotkey' , you can always try that program because it does that macro stuff, and I think it'll work for mice.
