Like everybody already published in this topic, the game is never getting old. Its the people that play the game that make a real difference.
I started playing the game since 2004 and im still playing it alot. However some things changed...
I usually play on modified servers instead of the normal AOW mode. Since february 2007 i even started my own renegadeserver with some modifications and i honestly think that is also the reason that this game still exists, ive seen a lot of players go just because the game (AOW) got boring after a few years and back then there were no ''modified'' servers. As of today there are serveral serverside modifications which gives the game an extra dimension without people having to download stuff to play on it, the people that get bored of the game just started playing these modified servers and sticked with the game because of it.
It's still a bummer to see that the actual mods that where released for C&C Renegade didnt have a high ratio with people playing them, basicly this has everything to do with the players that are to lazy to update their game, thats why im extremely glad that our TT team is busy with the patch!
my absolute Yes:
- It still has an unique game-mode.
- The fans/players of this game are extremely active with supporting server owners and developers.
- Servers still have people playing the game.
- The first SSGM and its potential (this saved the game!)
- People like Roshambo and Reborn
my absolute NO:
- Cheat developement is going sky high, mainly because some **** has some issues with server owners if they get banned.
- A huge increase of people that think they are superman and think they control the community.
- Performing a DNS ban just to keep certain cheaters out of the game.
- The lack of an independent community spokesman.
I think its enough for now, if you just read this forum then you will have more then enough to work with.
