don't expect an easy ride. there are a lot of rules to memorize about conjugations of verbs and special rules that may be confusing. It's because of this fact I won't be taking another language class unless I have to.

Not really, it's based on english so that made it easy to get a B in the class all three semesters despite not being able to remeber some of the rules. And I was typing "High German" before.

Madracks, your english is actually quite good for learning on the web.

SSnipe, German is actually one of the most widely spoken languages in the world aside from English.

English - enough to talk and I can read it extremly fast (too much english literature out there... dam)

It's not that simple, it's got annoying things like der, die and das, and using the precise word depending on the word to follow.
And then you got umlauts and all that.. It does get painful.
And also, you get things like, you don't go on a trip.. you make one..
