Flash sites load slow, hogs bandwidth and other resources, depends on the user's browser to have a flash-plugin installed, degrade web accessibility and is of proprietary nature; Don't do it!

That being said, the only actual thing Flash is good for, is streaming video.

Adding a few Flash elements to your website to spice things up can be nice if done correctly, but making an entire site with Flash is just stupid.

The program for building Flash files is called "Flash". I'm not sure what the current version is, but I learned on Flash 5 seven years ago or so. No doubt there have been several advances since.

Flash MX 2004 is what I learned last year in some web pages class. it's a pretty good program Thumbs Up

The current version is CS4 I think.

You'll need Flash to make flashy Flash stuff, but it costs. If you can get a student's package, it'll be cheaper but I don't think there's a need to waste your money on that if you're just making one site.

You have to ask yourself why you need Flash in the first place and whether there are other better alternatives to using Flash.
