I'm upset about this too, although this is General Motor's own doing, in that they couldn't manage the brand properly.
For every cool Pontiac, there are about five half-assed rebadges/shared platform-mates.
Still, it's a shame that from the looks of it, none of GM's remaining car brands like Buick or Chevrolet will inherit vehicles like the G8 or Solstice.

Well what is truly sad is that Pontaic is what made muscle cars in Amercia, now that it is gone how are we gonna keep it going? The brand name is not the old anyway, it is only 10 years old.

I don't know if you've noticed, but "muscle cars" are really a relic of the past.
I was in a head-on high speed car crash a few months ago with a woman driving a 2001 Pontiac Firebird, and I was in a Honda Accord. I was mildly injured and was released in six hours, whereas she needed major surgery and was released in six weeks. Guess who drove the better car? Hurr durr, her car can go 0 to 60 in 5 seconds or whatever. A lot of good it did her, driving down a highway with a speed limit less than that..
