Swine flu is automatically an ironic pandemic for rooting itself in Israel early on. I also want to start a conspiracy theory that this is a biological attack aimed at the US caused by the drop in burrito sales due to the recession.

It's already giving nutjobs another argument to stop brown people from entering the Mexican/U.S. border.

Plus, Mexico is already in dire straits, and this might be another event that pushes it over the edge.

Every so often, I get this positive feeling that humanity can somehow, possibly attain pure awesomeness, and enlightenment, and that there is light at the end of the road for us all. However, I only need to go to the latest HUD thread at RenForums to remind me of how dumb I was for thinking such stupid things.

They're taking it seriously where I work...
My employer asked me yesterday to fill in a form that declared I have not been to Mexico in the last few weeks, and if I was planning on traveling there any time soon. It wasn't even him who wanted the info, he was passing it on to people who we are contracted to.
I'm sure it's illegal for them to pass that info on, data protection act and all that. Plus, is it even legal for them to be asking me private, personal questions like that about where I will be holidaying?
I think it's a liberty.

Travel declaration forms are all part of the precautions we have to take. It has happened a lot for me since I stay in Asia and SARS pretty much caused schools and institutions to close down a few years back.

I doubt it will cause a pandemic, I think that might be caused because of avian flu.

I expect it'll come to nothing.

I also expect I won't catch it, or if I do, end up getting over it in < 24 hours.

(I struggle to get common colds...)

lmao!!!!

Where i'm from they closed the entire city and county school systems down till alteast mon and the Alabama High School Sports Association canceled everything wed and is starting to tentively schedule stuff again.

Personally, I think they are taking this way too seriously. Like a few of you said earlier, this will pass just like bird flu and sars and all that other bs.
