The map autodownloader and after its been released an INSTANT change of the server map rotations.
Sometimes i think, how stupid is this community: playing this single dozen maps now for 7 years?
there are so many great maps around, but they arnt added into the rotation of the most important servers, because "not all players have them"....

The rotations WILL change but I warn you that, contrary to "popular believe", there's very few decent fanmaps, in my experience. I tested a LOT of fanmaps for our weekly I-CW evenings that we've been having for years now and very often the maps were either bugged, unbalanced, often way too big for a decent game with less than 20 players or simple camp fests.
There's very few fast paced, open maps like the WW maps. If we had the auto downloader today, I doubt I'd find more than 15 new maps actually worth putting in our server's rotation.

thats still a decent amount of new competitive maps.
I don't see why you guys don't like the idea of auto banner, if there is a unflawed system which detects cheats, records serial ip and nicks and bans all in a second(a lot faster than a moderator) then that only means the moderator can spend more time playing the game rather than dealing with the 'hes cheating' etc etc complaints.

True, and it's somewhat tricky to find the good ones in there. However, just ten new maps would *really* make public more interesting. That, and when the autodownloader IS out, I'm sure some people will put time & effort into making more maps. Most of course will be sucky, but some might be good.

I think we can all agree cheaters suck, but there are anti-cheat and bugfix solutions already out there with varying degrees of success, while we still have no resource downloader. I think that's what's most desperately needed out of these four.

This is true actually. When n00bstories went to open the fan maps server Crimson installed the massive map pack ( the one with over 100+ maps ) and a few members went through every single map and narrowed down the list to about 10 maps that were worthwhile of playing

We ended up stopping the server ( or it crashed and we never rebooted it ..idk i can't remember ) and basically no one was using it .. but I don't have a copy of the list :\

yeah, i totally agree, under maybe 300 maps around are ~ 1/10 of it worth playing!
but to be honest, this would be a milestone if u compare it with the situation now. omg, it would be so great to see a new map on n00bstories with players in.
yeah, i know, they tried it.
i loved some of the CP2 maps (terrace, mutation_redux, last_stand, tropics) and had a lot of great games with it and a bunch of players in, but this is ~2 years ago.

It would be epic failure, to set a not approved mega-map-pack on a server or maps not worth playing.
We have to make a propper selection. Now we have the time, why not make tests and votes before TT is released?
