I tried that but when I run the setup on the C&C Red Alert disk it launches and then says "This game is not for windows 2000" or something like that. I thought that there was some kind of patch.

I have a 32 meg installer from a RA website that installs Red Alert + Counterstrike + Aftermath. Works for XP.
Thing is, even though you own the game, giving it out might be considered "warez" here.
Can someone enlighten me?

That's basically what I have, except it isn't as small.
You should be good to go with that
