Make sure the patch is in the directory where the game was installed and it will work (not necessarily the default one.) I installed into a directory other than the default, and patched using this method every time without problem.

Hope this helps.

That is correct, but if not try reinstalling Renegadae to the default directory. Kind of sucks the patching program was not really set to look in other directories other than its own. Westwood is kind of a rebel. Rocked Over

RTsa, i always had the game installed in c:\games\... and the patch always ran correctly. Maybe he's using Vista and not running the patch in admin mode, so it cannot find the current dir?

You can find me in The KOSs2 (TK2) discord while I'm playing. Feel free to come and say hi! TK2 discord

The install you do over the folder with the patch will replace the patched files with the original renegade's ones.

In all cases you will first have to install renegade to a chosen directory and than patch it.

So either install renegade than the patch to the right directory or install the patch to a random other folder to copy/paste it into your renegade folder manually.

I tried to say this:

When you install renegade to the folder you already have the patch in, the renegade install will replace the patched files with the old ones again.

So you got only 2 options left to get it patched:
1. Install renegade to an chosen directory (default: X:\Westwood\Renegade\) and than the patch to the same directory (but this seems to be quite hard when i read the above)

or
2. Install renegade to an chosen directory and the patch to another directory (like: X:\renegadepatchtemp\ where X is your harddrive) than manually copy the patch files from 'X:\renegadepatchtemp\' to your renegade install directory (default: X:\Westwood\Renegade\)

I hope i made myself clear enough this time Razz
