I think RenegadeX only delays the death of Renegade. People will play it and realize that its still the same old game they already became bored with and will move on to the next new game, whatever that may be. I don't know about anyone else, but after the first few hours of gameplay I become null to fancy graphics regardless.

[NE | Fobby[GEN] wrote on Fri, 03 April 2009 07:12]They're two different games and are not exactly the same. There are some key differences between C&C Renegade and Renegade X. Some will prefer Renegade X and some will prefer the original game. I for one will be playing both.

Yea me too, I will be playing both, partly because of scripts TT 4.0. BTW I noticed on the Renegade eeeeeeeex video after the APC ranover the NOD troops, the bodies remained there and didn't vanish like in the Renegade right now. I would love that style of Doom 95 bodies, can you tell me if it is going to be like that, or are they going to vanish?.

thefile wrote on Fri, 03 April 2009 07:21 | Interesting, with all this talk about patch 4.0, I can surly say that the original Renegade will NEVER be killed by Renegade eeeex LOL. Seriously, I bet that as soon as the Renegade eeeeeeeex comes out MANY people will play it and will get to know the ORIGINAL Renegade and, I believe that Renegade will be Reborn thanks to Renegade eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeex.

You said that if you were allowed back you wouldn't be making these kinds of posts...

WTF do you mean by that.

The bodies disappear eventually, but not right-away like in the original game.

By eventually I hope that you mean not right after the player spawn. Can you give some details like how many seconds it will remain there?. BTW how about players bodys who leave a game will remain dead in a position were they exited. For example if they are standing infront of a PT in a Strip and they leave the game why not make their player fall dead and remain there for the duration of the game?????

Feign death (basically faking your own death) is an addition to the game. Therefore you can use feign death to fool other players that you are dead. Obviously, if your body disappeared right after you die, then feigning death would be completely useless.
Therefore that means that your bodies will linger on the battlefield for a while after you die.

I demand the mod to be release right NOW! Whose with me?. :V

Feiging death won't probably add anything...is Ren X using targeting boxes? If someone is feiging death, then will the targeting box be disabled when an enemy player puts the reticle on them?
If yes, then probably will work. Otherwise it would show the full health.
And how long before people will just learn to shoot at the supposed dead bodies?

Yeah, the graphics are good but it really does not stack up when it comes to gameplay. I still play some pixelated racing games from 10 years ago because the gameplay is THAT damn good.
For me with Ren X, most important thing is probably gonna be how the Orca behaves, shoots, visibility and it's camera angle.
I think they are doing a good job to get the gameplay feel but we will never know till it is finished. I think those who discover C&C Mode thru Ren X won't have any problems adjusting. Those that are playing Ren X after Ren will probably find a few things to adjust to.

I am interested to see how the Orca will hand as well, come to think about it, the transport too. I hope they give it guns, as it already has them, but it looks like the developers at Westwood were rushed like hell and ended up not having time to make the whole thing work.

RenX will have its success. New players with Upper-End-Computers will start with RenX, not Ren.
Players with older systems or people just incidentally got Ren will still start with Ren.
Most of us Ren-addicted will play both, I guess.
I would make my daily/hourly decision by the players ingame: if the teamplayers are in Ren, then I would play Ren. If RenX, then RenX.
Ren will not die.
But: Hurry up to release the TT with the Auto-Map-Downloader.
Gameplay was much more interessting with CP2-Maps running.
And there are so many great maps, e.g. those of ACK and Titan77.
By the way, there is one thing I dont like with RenX: to much splatter effects. I liked the "charme" of Ren...
