It's been 4 months since my last upgrade...so I'm upgrading my computer from this:

Core2Quad 6600
8GB Ram - PC3-12800+ (DDR3-1600+) DDR3
2x500GB Raid 1, with 750GB Media HD
And a nice motherboard

I'm upgrading to THIS:
CPU: Core i7-920 2.66GHz

Motherboard: ASUS P6T Intel X58 Core i7 Extreme/Core i7 Socket 1366 PC3-16000 (DDR3-2000) ATX Motherboard

Ram: Still looking for a good price, may have to use my PC3-12800+ (DDR3-1600+) until I find some PC3-16000 (DDR3-2000) DDR3 Memory. Motherboard has 6 slots, so i'll be getting 12GB.

HD's: 2x500GB, 750GB Gaming Drive, 1TB Media Drive - Just adding 1TB HD.

Video Card: Probably keep my GTX 9800. Still waiting for better video cards since it's still top of the line.

Ooops, I ment to say "I'm upgrading to THIS:", not the "NOT" part...

I don't think I would ever buy a computer from a manufacturer anymore. I enjoy building my own and being able to upgrade the hardware whenever I want without having to buy a full system. I would have to much hardware laying around, even though I already do.

Going to pass this computer down to my wife, thinking about getting a new liquid cooled case since I've never had one before. Does anyone know if the liquid cool cases are a big hassle? Are they more of pain than what its worth? I'm used to using nothing but fans, and thinking about combining the fans with the liquid cooled system, but it sounds risky when you have any kind of liquid near your hardware!!! My hardware is to expensive to have a few drops of coolant dropping on it....

MasterEvolution, when I took my brother's PC apart and out of it's OEM case until we got a new one finally (the parts inside were custom though), I found it better to have a spot fan on the hard drive. The CPU doesn't need one. Just my feedback from experience. Even though the GPU is old, that's a nice PC. I like how you have it real clean with no dust (which is rare on older parts). Perhaps I should get pictures of his build too (It's an Antec 300 build).

Here's mine. Real pictures? Like these?

Hardware:
Case: Cooler Master Stacker 830SE
PSU: PC Power & Cooling Silencer 610
Motherboard: ASUS Maximus Formula (flashed to Rampage Formula using it's BIOS, since they're the same thing anyway)
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8600 3.33GHz @4.50GHz
CPU Cooler: Xigmatech s1283 w/ retention bracket
RAM: 4GB (2x 2GB) Corsair XMS2 800MHz DDR2 @5-5-5-18 900MHz (had 8GB, as shown in the pictures, but it forced me to use 4.0GHz and higher voltages, and since 8GB is massive overkill, I took it out)
GPU: MSI nVidia GeForce 8800GT OC 512MB
HDD: 4x 640GB Western Digital Caviar SE16 AAKS
Monitor: IBM P275 21" CRT 1600x1200 @100Hz
Speakers: Logitech Z2300 2.1
OS: Windows XP SP3 & Windows 7 x64 BETA (will get Windows 7 x64 Home Premium upon release)

I started buying the parts in November of '07, and finished it near the beginning of February (waited for the E8400 to launch), so it's a little over a year old at this point.

The PC was turned on, and the fans were spinning in all pictures, even though it doesn't look like it. It's the motion detection of my camera. I included three using the camera in manual mode so you can see what it actually looks like, but they're blurry since sharpening and all that was off.

Oh, and just for the heck of it, here's an older PC. It's a Dell Dimension 4100 with a Pentium III 933MHz, 384MB of PC133 SDRAM, a GeForce 4 Ti4200, a Sound Blaster Live Platinum, and a 40GB HDD. It has Windows 98SE and Windows 2000 on it (Windows 98SE FLIES on this thing). It's older, sure, but it was one of my first PCs I really started tinkering with, minus the one before it that I killed. It's also the first I ever played Renegade on. I haven't been able to part with it.

What keyboard is that you have? It looks nice (but it's hard to tell since the photo's are a little noisy).

I like the Antec 900 too. My brother really wanted a case with a window, but I was hesitant let him get some real cheap off brand junk just because it had a window, and the Antec 900 was more than I wanted to spend, so we went with the 300 for a little over half the price the 900 would had cost. It was an excellent case for the money, and him and I had no problems with it when assembling it. I imagine the Antec 900 would be even better.

@Mr. Selfish, that's a nice bundle, but the images are way too big. Nobody wants to see images the size the camera takes them at. I was thinking maybe mine were too big after seeing the OP's, but they're only 1024x768.

@ Chuck Norris:

Nice pictures!

I got spooked when I saw your pictures because it is ditto my room; blue walls and white closet/door to the left and a door to the right. Heck, even my table looks similar to yours! You scared me.

I really miss my camera now!
