It would be awesome if this were true but considering it was let out on April 1st they can't honestly expect this to be taken seriously.

Umm, if you actually read the article it doesn't seem far-fetched at all considering they published a fairly in-depth explanation of how everything works. So no, I don't think it's a joke.

Interesting though.

c|net

Updated at 4:08 p.m. PDT April 1 with further details about Google's data center efficiency and shipping containers modules and 6:30 a.m. April 2 to correct the time frame of efficiency statistics.

They wouldn't update it if it were a joke... especially to update it on Apr 2?

whoa.

Google has a history of utilizing April Fools; it's their company culture. Humour runs in their blood.

What is interesting is that they also have used April Fools day to make real announcements like they did with Gmail back in 04. This could be one of those type of announcement especially given how much work seems to be put into it.

Do you people ignore my posts? Just like the one about the Fermi Principle... is speculation that much more exciting than harsh reality? Clearly it's NOT an April Fool's joke... any simple reasoning will tell you that.

whoa.

Hey. I responded to that post.

Edit: Yeah, speculation is WAY more fun than the sad reality most of the time.
