Dear People who Run the Forum,

At great risk to my posting rights and topic longevity, I come today with a dire grievance! Very recently, as you surely know, a terrible disaster happened in our community. Our precious roofgnomes thread, an ancient and holy forum artifact, was mercilessly locked desecrated by Fuhrer "Goztow."

In response, Rocko, a community member homie with an unquenchable thirst for justice created a poll with the intent of gauging popular support for unlocking the thread. Unfortunately, it wasn't long before Goztow set his sights on this poll thread in his latest tyrannical barrage on our forum liberties. See for yourself - the legitimate thread where the community was raising its concerns regarding moderator Goztow's heartless, authoritarian abuse of his moderator privileges has been locked.

Where can we, the community, rightly debate these atrocities?

I therefore boldly appeal on behalf of the community that:

  1. The "unlock the gnome topic - vote" thread be unlocked so we can continue debating about a completely moot point, a beloved and historic tradition of the renforums community.
  2. The roofgnomes thread and all posters therein be guaranteed permanent amnesty and protection from any future reign of terror attempted by unscrupulous moderators.
  3. Goztow's forum name be changed to "Mr. Grumpypants."

Thank you for your consideration regarding our reasonable requests in this most serious of matters.

LET THE PEOPLE'S VOICE BE HEARD!

And if I am banned or otherwise punished for this, I will live on as an eternal martyr for roofgnomes everywhere!

---------

It's pretty funny but it really needs to stop being bumped every week. Loses its magic.

So you're attempting to make fun of the patheticness of trying to salvage the roofgnomes thread by wasting your time creating a pointless, over-the-top parody of the debate.

I 100% agree. I would submit a simple name change is not enough for such a gross incompatence.

FYI I didn't lock Rocko's roofgnome related topic and didn't unlock the other topic.

This post opened my eyes, though: roofgnomes are such an important part of the renforums culture that they cannot possibly be locked out without creating a new French revolution.

As I don't particularly like guillotines, I will therefor respect the will of the people. However, may I ask all of you to not bump this topic very often, it really looses its purpose.

May i ask the people to appoint an official "roofgnomes thread bump representative" who will keep in mind to bump the topic once every 3 months at most?

Yours humbly,

Mr. Grumpypants

PS: I hope a custom tag suits the purpose as well as a nick change

In all honesty, shouldn't the roofgnome thread be moved towards HoF?
I *think* that would be a good place to let it rest for a while, and then, on some miraculus day, a mod will move it back to general topics and rivive it!

I still don't understand the obsession with that thread, I read through the first 10 pages a while back and then gave up as I had yet to read anything I would consider 'legendary'...

I locked Rocko's roof gnomes poll thread and unlocked roof gnomes. I was hoping if I did that the poll thread would just fall off the front page and the roof gnomes thread would maybe hover a bit longer and then fall off to be resurrected some time in the future. I didn't do it to kill free speech or anything like that, just because I figured if I was going to keep unlocking roof gnomes there was no need for a lets unlock roof gnomes thread. I would have explained this all sooner but I had no internet all yesterday when I did the lock/unlock on my phone.

I should also note that though locking is not the answer - lame ass all to soon bumps are made of fail. If that isn't a few months old and a few pages back it shouldn't even get considered for a bump.

Oh whatever. Just ignore the damn rules you all agreed to.

No one would give a shit if it wasn't that topic, and that topic is worth nothing, and newer people are just spamming it (not that it had content to start with)

I'm trying to keep the damn boards clean. Sorry for that??

Oh, and do your damn research. I locked the Roofgnomes first, because I was disposing of the spam it had engendered.
