Go download them off the dell website. If they don't have them on there(possible. Dells run by a bunch of morons) you can call dell and they will send you a recover CD.

Be forwarned that your name has to be registered with their company as the owner of the PC. It's complete bs. Oh ya. You have to fill out some paperwork if you aren't registered as the owner of the PC. You will need to use the PC itself, go to their website(using internet explorer only) and the website will detect the pc. You can't simply write the number on the report.

Thats my 1 phone call experience to Dell. I didn't get outsourced tech support btw. It was still this bad. To sum it up I told the guy to have a nice day, hung up, called microsoft, 10 minutes later I had a brand new CD key to install windows XP(store bought copy). So thats the ordeal you will have to go through in order to get a recovery cd.

There transfer of ownership system works really good when you don't know the previous owner of the pc, the pc doesn't have internet, or many other situations. Oh ya... They don't even care who the last owner of the pc is. The guy told me to put n/a in the blanks for previous owner. Real useful system...

Look better the drivers are there..

I only use recovery CD's because it's the quick way, and you don't have to spend alot of time in the process. But it has its cons too.

Using an OEM XP with the serial provided on the back, is just as easy. And you won't have bloatware but a more civilized OS.

Dell has by far the most organized way to get to the correct drivers for your product. Underneath the laptop you will see the Service Tag number.

Use that on the Dell website to get to your drivers. And looks like your laptop has a built-in wireless card as well.

Also install drivers in this order: BIOS, Chipset, Video, Network, Audio, and the rest.

EDIT: You didn't steal this did you? Very Happy

Yes i went to there drivers download website, but some drivers (lets say drivers for a wireless device) has more then one, and the laptop did not say which driver will work since it could only detect the hardware but since could not b
find any drivers it did not work,

so what i did is download every driver per device until i ran into a driver that worked =] and i did work every hard ware is working now

only thong i found odd is i have the same pc (by that i have 2 laptops that are the exact same) one i put vista on another (the one the post is about) is xp, so im guessing vista helped since the other one that i pu vista on never asked for any drivers even tho it was wiped out and was a blank copy of vista no drivers while i put blank copy of xp on the second on the second one and has no drivers for the hardware, but as i said went to del website downloaded a driver per device and installed each one til one worked, but the odd part is if these laptops are te same then why does my vista laptop have broadcom wireless network adatper but when on the xp laptop i went to network drivers and only one that worked was the intel wireless driver

its like wtf? tere both same but i guess vista replaced the drivers needed or something since some on vista wee not even on dell website

And no i did not steal them, this guy from africa (yes i know wierd uh?) is like a pc tech or net admin or something and he has literally bunch of giant barrels bigg as a car filled with hundreds to thousands of brand new routers and hard drives and net wroked cards all brand fucking new just tons of computers and laptop (which i worked of these two laptops) and cars full of keyboards and mouses and he sends them over sea's

I wish i knew how the fuck he has all this i mean he has flat screens and latops and acts like there trash in his garrage just pushes them over with his feet like an old mop or something,,,i opened a huge barral and saw it full of hard drives that can fill up my moms car all brand new while im trying to save up money to buy just one lol
