1) Since my moms pc and my pc are connect in my network which is mac filtered and password
If i use real vnc and make it so you dont need a password to connect to the computers to view them
is it safe? I dont care who views our pcs but from our house!
via i dont care if my mom sees mine or I see my moms but is it possible that anyone else can log in and see our computers without hacking my network?
2) Can someone help me step by step on setting it up?
since I cant get it to work
-I installed
-check settings to all default except a few
-put vcn password and put my password (none related to question 1)
-mine has its own port number and my moms has a diff port number
-on both pcs firewall exception to both server and viewer .exe of real vcn
-forward the ports for my moms pc on her windows firewall and forward my ports of my pc in my windows firewall
-forward both pc ports on my router (even tho diff pc i cant have same ports numbers in my router which is why i changed 1 pc's ports that are not default i get port overlapping even tho its for my pc not my mines )
and all i get is connection timed out both pc
I went over settings (never touched nothing except port and pass and anything else that I KNOW WHAT THEY WERE)
and went over and over it again and cant figure out wtf is wrong why wont it work and connect?

To answer question 1.
IF you port forward your WAN ip to the desktop running the vnc server, then this is NOT safe. Any outside user can connect to it, thats what port forwarding does. If there is no password on your vnc server (your desktop) then they have full access. So if you are planning to use it without a password, externally over the internet then apply firewall mac permissions ( for example, ALLOW vncPort FROM *laptopmac address* )
To answer question 2.
Are you planning on using realvnc OUTSIDE of your lan ? ( your local "house" network ) If not then its not necessary to port forward. You can still connect to your real vnc server desktop by using the local ip ( 192.etc.. ).
If you are, and are attempting to access it via your WAN ip then im blank as of this moment.
To test out Desktop firewall permissions, i recommend trying to connect from within your own network ( For example , laptop to desktop ) using your private IP addressing

To answer question 1.

If you mean local ip as is 192.168.2.xxx and ya im using that to connect and no its not outside my lan
its all my network my router..my house..and my moms pc and my pc..so I dont need to port forward? so I dont need to port forward if its local on my network?
if yes then either way still not working

Well I edited my other post but either way
its all my local network im trying to connect to my moms pc and vis versa her connect to mine using external IP...but cant figure out whats wrong

Firwall = router firewall
SOURCE = *,*
SOURCE = SOURCE,IP RANGE
Source means where is the connection coming from? In this case ive allowed ALL WAN and ALL ips. * means wildcard, so all is permitted.
If i wanted to make it lan only, i would have it set like
SOURCE = LAN,*
If i wanted to make it ONLY one WAN IP
SOURCE = WAN,99.99.99.99
Keep in mind the configuration stuff is different on most routers, im using a dlink. This configuration was all done in a graphical interface so when i say "SOURCE=" doesn't mean i wrote that, but its what the values are
DEST is the opposite of source. Where is the data going ? I dont want to open a port for all IPs on my lan, so i have only my desktop IP set
DEST=LAN,192.168.0.105
if i wanted to make this work for ALL clients on my local network
DEST=LAN,*

Router sounds way better then mine..Im try to reinstall real vcn and try it agian but ill have to wait for my mom to off the computer so till them ill reply back

Theres definately a firewall section on your router somewhere
The basics for nearly every firewall on a router ( to my knowledge) is
source network, source ip, source port, source protocol, destination network, destination ip, destination port, destination protocol
