The DVD burner you see in the picture is actually a professional DVD/CD publisher, albeit a last generation one. I just ordered two new DVD burner drives for it, as it came without them. As you can see, I tend to do allot of burning to disc. Smile

My desk:
http://users.tpg.com.au/jfwfreo/moto_0048.jpg
Picture quality is crap because all I have handy is the camera from my Motorola Z6 phone. (the white stuff on my screen is comming from the camera, not from Photocrap Smile
The PC off to the side and the old CRT are my (currently non-functional) Gentoo linux box
Mouse is a Microsoft Optical Intellimouse.
Also visible in the picture is my Maxtor external HDD, my dirty carpet (I need a new vacuum cleaner before I can clean it up), my floor rug (one of those ones that looks like a Persian carpet but doesn't have the huge price tag), the crappy mouse for my linux PC (behind the subwoofer on the floor) and the corner of my TV table. The silver box on the floor has all my DVDs and stuff in it. The black and yellow thing next to my monitor is one of my LEGO creations. Not visible in the picture is my Canon Pixma MP510 multi-function-center.
The desk (and the TV table and most of my other furniture) came from IKEA.

My desktop: (just the one monitor, if I had the money I would buy another 19" LCD or something and go dual monitor)

I just took some shots of my desk and will pano them when I finally get them transferred from my camera. My computer just is more fucked up every day. I want to restore it but am afraid to lose data as everyone else is. I am trying to create a safe partition to store stuff on but partition magic wont let me. Jerk partition magic.

Doitle just buy an external hard drive they're cheap enough($70 for 160GB around here), if you're cheap and don't have much you need backed up you can get a 16GB Thumb drive for $20.

Remember when backing up you need more than one backup location at least 2 on-site and 1 off-site(Windows Live Skydrive for example works pretty well you get 25GB to store stuff on the only problem is the upload limit is 50MB Sad) Wink

I have over 350GB free on my current HD. Just for saving files during a reinstall it would be stupid not to put them on another partition. Secondly one of the consequences of my computer "being fucked up" is that flash drives and external drives will not work. It always brings up the "add new hardware" wizard and then fails on install. Even for drives which should use the standard plug and play mass storage driver. It is very frustrating.

I got the drives fitted for the burner tonight. It's running pretty nicely. I took a movie, you can see it here. The sound is awful because the movie is taken on a digital camera, and the room has a tendency to create echo's too. It really isn't as noisy as the movie makes it out to be.
