Jesus Christ. "BLAME THE PARENTS!" Of course. Oh, lets blame their teachers too! They should have taught the children not to do these things, right? And maybe their friends! their friends can influence them, and their friend's parents! In fact, lets just put everyone in jail.

I think this law would only encourage kids to commit crimes. It basically says that anything they do, assuming some kind of video game is related (and a video game can probably be related to every kind of crime there is), they won't get blamed for it.

They are such morons. Violent games PREVENT physical violence, not cause it...

How will the police figure out that the crime was motivated by a video game?

Do they look at the crime, look through the kid's game collection, find GTA, and BINGO! DADDY GOES TO JAIL?

While mildly entertaining, the article is a satire piece. The information it presents is not factual.

Mind you, that doesn't mean that people aren't fucking morons for blaming everything and everyone except the perpetrator for crimes. That part is true.

*sigh*

Remember, kids: illiteracy is cool. If you took the time to read this, you are clearly a loser who will never get laid. You've been warned.

So, a kid kills someone in Texas and says (or the police find out) it was 'motivated' by a computer game, who get's killed?

The parents or the guy who came up with the idea for the game? Or maybe even the person that sold it to him despite the fact that he/she isn't old enough to play it?

Seriously though, why even shift the blame at all? I mean, if it is the parents fault about how they raised them, then what should happen is you teach the kids that do it that it is wrong to do stuff like that, and the start of doing that is to punish them because that's how kids generally learn that something is wrong.

This is a signature. Reading this is wasting your time.

That isn't even the point. Let's assume for a minute that games did encourage violence. So what if someone gets motivated from a game or outside source? It was still that person's own personal choice to physically commit the crime and therefore the blame is theirs and theirs alone.

This is the same thing as blaming your teacher because you failed a test, regardless of the fact you didn't study.

Yah people center on video games way too much. What about the news media which is always portraying disasterous events. Does that not desensitive kids? That and movies and all sorts of things. There are limitless things that can affect someone's personality.

I think the picture in the article pretty much summarizes my thoughts toward video game violence.

That is the way is should be. Parents shoulds ALWAYS be accountable for what their childern do/play/watch/act out/ect. If they were there wouldn't need to be a decision like that in the first place.

Then the blame surely rests upon the probably already dead criminal who committed the first act of violence. Because it's NEVER the fault of the person who actually did it.
