I was putting music on my 2 gb Micro SD that goes into my cell phone which is a t-mobile G1 but when I copy x amount of files to the root folder i get this
SO i formatted it as a FAT drive not FAT 32 ( I dont know if i should....if i need to tell me what evers better)
but still got it, even tho I have 900 MB left it wont work
so i googled the error and read that theres a limit of files/folders on the root folder...and someone put as well
"dang sd cards have limits on their root drive"
which i have not tryed yet but seems to work for tons of people
So I wonder since this never happen to me before wtf can I do so all music can just be on it instead of me having to make folders

Wait, so you Googled the problem and found the solution, but you STILL come here for help?
If your issue is that you have too many files in the root folder, try organizing the music in folders instead. I NEVER have any issues with filling my 2GB SD Micro cards with my music, and I organize my music by album, "Artist - Album Title".
If the cards have a forced limit on them, you're not going to be able to get around it. You'll just have to make do. Organization shouldn't be the end of the world. Hell, it makes it a fuckload easier to remove songs you DON'T want because you don't have to search for them as much.
whoa.

I assume it can. I know that my phone is able to. Most smart phones aren't that limited.
