Hey guys i could do with a little help.

I got some new gear for my system yesterday (as you do), Had to reinstall windows and everything.

I come to installing renegade then playing it. But when i try loading, The first logo loads up for about 3 seconds, the CD reads then it just goes off. I checked in task manager and game.exe and renegade.exe are not running. So i went to installing the patch, tryed it. It dint work also. I tryed installing renguard. Renegade dint work with any of the three .exe and also renguade wouldn't even show its face and load. I finaly went to installing a nocd patch. renegade.exe and game.exe still won't work. but game2.exe dose, though that dose not help me run with renguard.

Any one could give a little advice.

System:
OS = Windows XP Pro, SP3 - modified installed with nlite.
CPU = AMD Pentom Black 9850 4X 2.5ghz
RAM = 2gb Ram, 1066mhz
GPU = Nvidia 9800gt 1gb - 180.48 Drivers
MO = Gigabye GA-MA770-DS3 REV2
IDE DVD-RW
SATA HDD

Renegade:
Patch = 1037
Renguard = Core Patch 2
NoCD = rg_compatible_nocd.exe

Did you install core patch 2? More info

If the no cd patch helped, then maybe core patch 2 (who comes with one) can help...

Yeah. I tryed CP2 but that made no diffrence to RG been able to load.

What sort of error do you get if you just run game2.exe?

No error at all.. its just normal play just with out RG.

I would not bother with Renguard. It's become more or less useless nowadays and more and more servers stop using it even.

i know. but I'd still like to get this bug fixied. I'm thinking maybe it could be an SP3 problem. There have been no updated for renguard for SP3 that im awear of yet.

TBH, I would recommend that you continue to play without Renguard.

Renguard is a wonderful initiative

Heh, I'm afraid you'll have to plead with them that RG is not functional, which is sadly not uncommon, and then they hopefully will unforce you.

Yeah i got them to unforce me.
But if some one dose it again i'll probly not get unforced.

We need a new version of RG to support new system , it seems the newest RG was from 2007 x.X

A new version of RG would be pointless when the TT patch is not that far away which will replace RG and be 20x better than it.

What's this TT patch? Iv only been back to playing renengade a month or two again, so been out of the loop.

And as for the sever, Its my fravorit... im sure you have one and would be upset to have to leave it behind.

But thanks for all your guys help. Im guessing no one has a clue whats wrong.
