That to me is proabbly the most realistic MorderN warfare movie there is atm

I doubt anybody here has a valid opinion/idea of what war really is.
It's a great movie, for sure, but I wont pass judgment on whether it's realistic or not.

Platoon.
besides the adagio for strings puts in the emotion which makes it alot more tens.
Also Stanley kubrick served in vietnam so no way anyone could have done it better.

My picks would be Paths of Glory (another Kubrick film, set during WWI) and the HBO miniseries Band of Brothers.

Jarhead was pretty much real, except the retarded "shooting in the air" crap at the end.
Blackhawk Down's author HATED what was done to the movie: It ignored half of the heroes in the movie and made the main character's name changed as well as mix up acts of heroism with others, negating any individual truth to it.
The "main" character was later court-martialed for sexual battery of a child. A complete pervert that was a disgrace to himself and his company.
But yeah, good movie, though. I just wish it was more accurate.
Stupid rules of engagement by the UN and Clinton left us powerless. I hate to see how we'll be disarmed in the next four years.
