Nice dodge for sure, there was a lot of power in the throw and it was well aimed. Applause for Mr Bush.

For those not in the know, hitting someone with one's shoes or throwing one's shoes at someone is among the worst insults in the Arab world. It is also considered horribly dishonorable to issue such an insult to a guest, regardless of how little one might like that guest, because of deeply-ingrained traditions of hospitality (which are not only codified in the Koran, but also part of long-standing pre-Islamic culture). So, on one hand, this guy is being praised for daring to give what-for to Mr. Bush- but on the other, he is also being denounced for violating the laws of hospitality and being about as rude as it is possible to be to a guest in his country.
It certainly is one of the more... unique things to happen to a US President overseas.
"Arms discourage and keep the invader and plunderer in awe, and preserve order in the world as well as property. Horrid mischief would ensue were (the law-abiding) deprived of the use of them." - Thomas Paine
Remember, kids: illiteracy is cool. If you took the time to read this, you are clearly a loser who will never get laid. You've been warned.

By the way: Bad call turning down a vet during our time of greatest national threat, American voters.
Nobody has a right or responsibility to humiliate another. He didn't just insult the president, he insulted the americans killed defending his country against the very people who repressed his right to protest legally.
And for a little perspective:

It's both the highest insult a Muslim can deliver but at the same time a massively rude gesture. Hospitality is supposedly one of the facets of Islam, and by treating a guest in his own nation this way that reporter is being shunned by many Muslims.
