Here in Tucson, AZ gas prices have gone down to under $2.00. It's funny how the media isn't talking about this improvement. Media is always trying to make the government and Bush administration as bad as possible. Did you know the rate of EMPLOYMENT was at its highest during the Bush administration after about 70 years. Yet this is never heard on the news

During the 8 years of Bush' governance, we have been in a booming economy. We're going into recession pretty soon.
The president has nothing to do with gas prices, really, especially as there's very little taxes on it in the USA. The middle East has us by our nuts. The reason why the prices have gone down again is partially because the high price was partially caused by speculance, and because economic activity has gone down due to the world wide bank crisis.

its safe to say that all of the people in US posting their prices are posting them for gallon, which is 3.78 letres i believe. now if you guys are paying 2$/gallon thats 0.53$/liter. while in UK/Europe people are paying 1.5euro/liter which is around 2$/liter so 4 times more... i feel bad for you guys in Europe.
here in Alberta i filled up for 0.81$CDN/liter. so thats about 0.63$US/liter or 2.4$/gallon

Still over $2 here in NJ, but both I and my 18-gallon tank were very happy- the prices have dropped more than a full dollar since the last time I filled.
I still feel sorry for you folks across the pond- though, to be fair, most of your cars are way more fuel efficient than most of the guzzlers over here. Y'all also have far better mass-transportation than we do, for the most part.

We have been below $2/gallon for over a week here in Wi now. It needs to keep going down though to make up for that $5/gallon bullshit.

You might as well start your own pipe line from there, who knows maybe it will save you money some day. : ) Man, I live in California and I remember when the gas was about $4.58 or even $5.23. But then suddenly they dropped.

It's not that we're complaining about the price. We complained about the SUPER HYPER FAST INCREASE in price. Our gas prices tripled. Families budgeted based on the old prices. We all took jobs of varying commutes, put our kids in schools of varying distances, made intelligent, thought-out decisions all under the notion that our annual transportation cost wouldn't triple. The sudden price increases completely obliterated those plans.
Suddenly, for a lot of people, it became more expensive to drive to work than you would make in a day.
Last year I had a job that had me driving 150 miles every day. I was spending $800 a month on gas. That's more than my car payment was at the time. Almost more than my HOUSE PAYMENT was at the time. And of course I couldn't sell the house and move closer because the HOUSING MARKET was way down.
I had to leave the job. And it really was a GREAT JOB, I was the program director (big boss) of a radio station. I made all the decisions about the music, DJ's, promotions, everything... It was MY station. And I had to give it all up, all because gas prices rose so unexpectedly.
So again, it's not the PRICE, it's the fact that the rug was pulled out from under us after our lives were already planned.
Y'know when you're about to buy a mammy and suddenly some fux0r takes out your pp? All of a sudden you've gotta pony up 3k for a tank that's just gonna get picked off by rav's and stanks in like 30 seconds. THAT'S what we're complaining about.
