He knows it's an issue regarding his FTPd. It doesn't take a genius to search for "<FTPd software> customization", or even any general troubleshooting search queries for the FTPd.

If it's possible to customize the page, it'll be somewhere in the code, anyway. I know next to nothing in programming, but I always look through the files to see if I can find what I'm looking to change.

Maybe I'm being quick to assume because so many people are lazy to search, but I'm willing to bet that he didn't spend any extensive amount of time going through files or searches to find the answer he was looking for. I don't doubt that he tried, but I don't think it was a reasonable amount of time spent.
