Hello everybody,
I hope you can help me with the folowing problem:
I installed renegade a couple of weeks ago, but I had a lot of perfomace problems and Regegade didn't work so well. Now are those perfomance problems gone and I can play renegade, but the problem is at some points windows gets an BSOD and renegade quit's. Some of those points are:
- When my gun is empty
- When I start an campaign
- When I pressed ESC during a game and I want to return to the game.
There may be more points where I get this BSOD, but I didn't find them yet, and I'm not gonna look for them.
The only thing I have changed is that the resolution is set back from 1024 x 768 to 800 x 600. My PC specs are the folowing (the regegade mim spec's are behind it betwien ()):
Windows 98 SE (windows 98/2000/ME/XP)
PIII 450 Mhz (PII 400 Mhz)
128 Mb RAM (96 MB RAM)
8 GB free (700 Mb for the game)
36x or higher (4x)
16 Mb on the VGA card (16 Mb)
3D accelerator (3D accelerator)
640 Kbit (56,6)
What can be the problem?
Another problem I got is when Renegade quit's the windows bar's are white in stead of gray, does someone know's the solutions for this to?

As for your problem. It certainly is a an odd one. Never before have I heard of something like this happening.
Im no expert but it looks like you simply have a computer thats too outdated to run the game.

That my computer is too outdated I have heared before, but the specs are better then the mimum requerments, so that shouldn't be the problem.

I have "some" other programs running. This is the list:
- Apache webserver
- MySQL server
- SETI@Home (SETI@Home stands for Search for Extraterrestial Intelligence At Home, so a program who seach for aliens)
- 2 program's that support SETI@Home
- Virusscan
Tomorow I'm gonna try to run Renegade whitout those programs. Maybe it works then

I have tried to run renegade without those programs, but Renegade still crashes, what is the problem
And it is not that the programs where started and then killed, they where just never started
