Hi all, I recently installed RenGuard as I wanted to go on a RenGuard protected server (stupid of me yes I know). I tried starting up Renegade by double clicking on Desktop icon (like I usually do)and discovered this was not working. I then used the "Run as Administrator" option and the mouse icon then turned into the sign to show it was loading.....then nothing...If you haven't already guessed, yes I do use Windows Vista. I've un-installed Renegade and RenGuard twice now to try get it working but still nothing and every time I click the Renegade icon the message "Error Code 000005" appears. Please help and go easy, not very good with computer folders.
Thanks =)

Here's a simpler way: Go to C:\Westwood\Renegade\ find game2.exe and go to Send to: Select "desktop(create shortcut)", also I think you missed the other thing you have to do: Right Click the shortcut you currently have or the one you created following the steps above > Properties > Compatibility Tab > Check "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" > Select Windows XP(Service Pack 2), also make sure you run in admin mode still, sometimes it will work without admin mode(like it does for me most of the time).
If this does not work I'm sure we can come up with another solution.

You're welcome.
(Damn, what was I thinking, normally I pre-empt MS' message boxes...)
Renguard is a wonderful initiative
