I only broke up what you posted because I don't expect you to know what I'm talking about when I start talking about it. It's designed to make it easier for you to read, not to help my argument. And I only took 2 excerpts out of what you said, the first quote was for something I said, which you still aren't apparently getting, so I'm not going to even bother anymore as you keep on coming back with the same argument.

However, as for the DS, yes it can do all of those things listed, except one. You can use it as a music player. You can use it as a video media player/streamer. You can use it to play multiplayer without friend codes on games that aren't rated "E."

But, you are correct, it doesn't have a camera, I was mistaking it for something else that plugged into the GBA slot. However, the DSi has a camera.

Yes, $400 is a terrible price for a console. When I buy a console, the number 1 reason for why I'm buying it is to play games on it. All its extra "features" don't play into the decision of purchasing the console. They're the sort of thing that I just say "Oh, wow, I can do this too if I wanted to" and then continue playing my game. Wii doesn't need a DVD player or a BluRay player. My 360 has a DVD player and I've only used 1 once and that was to test to see how to use it. If I want to watch a DVD, I will use my DVD player, not a video game console.

Now, $400 just to play games in your spare time, which, by the way, [games] cost way more for the PS3 than for any other console, is way too much money. $300 is too much money. In fact I was even iffy at spending $250 for a Wii.. the only reason I bought it was because I had a bunch of store gift cards I was able to use. I didn't buy an actual Wii game until almost a month after I bought the thing!

Now wait, you might be thinking that that's a lie because I already said I owned a 360. Well that's because I only payed $360 for my 360 (pun not intended). I bought it from a friend who threw in a 5 year warranty, 6 games, wireless controller, a 64mb memory card, and HD compatible component cables.

Oh yea, and my 360 did get the red-ring-of-death. I sent it in, got it back a week later, and they gave me a 3 month subscription to Xbox LIVE for free. Not a bad deal, if I do say so myself.

*edit*

In case you still haven't grasped my point yet: the price of the console is not dependent on the parts used in making it, but rather defined by how much use you will get out of it and how enjoyable it will be. The money spent on my Wii was very well spent. It is the center of attention when people come over, it brought most of my family together almost every night, and it reaches my demands for gaming with games like Zelda and Smash Bros.

If I were to go out and buy a PS3, it would just rot in the corner of my room collecting dust as I have absolutely no use for it at all. The only game I would even consider getting for it is Metal Gear, but only because it looks cool. But once that game is over and done with, it would become a paper weight until I can scrape up enough interest in other games as well as the $70 to pay for it. I have absolutely no interest in any of the other games it has, as the games for Wii & 360 greatly eclipse them, both in playability, enjoyability, as well as in price.

Just because the PS3 has a bunch of high-quality features, doesn't mean that you aren't getting ripped off. In fact, I believe the people who buy a PS3 are the ones who are being ripped off. Just because it has a bunch of features, it is no excuse to beef up its price. Simply because a lot of those features wont be used, and it would be wasted money. I bet if there were different versions of the PS3 that had less features, they would sell better than the ones with more features... simply because the price is cheaper and people wont be wasting money on something they wont use.

*edit2*
Hypothetically speaking, lets say that tomorrow you are going out to buy a car. Would you rather spend a lot of money on a nice looking car that also has the ability to fly to the moon or a normal looking car for cheap that does what you need it to do?
