They, along with Sabbath, created hard rock and metal. Not to mention that the tandem of Jimmy Page's guitar and Robert Plant's vocals... there's no comparison.

Truth. Led Zep pretty much created awesome. Same with Black Sabbath.

I can't stand either band, but Zep is slightly more tolerable.

I was raised the wrong way. Most people that listen to similar music as me all started with Zep. I started with Van Halen when I was around 10, so that in and of itself should speak volumes.
The Who never appealed to me. and I don't know why. However, Keith Moon is an excellent drummer, and I'd say he is quite a bit better than Bonham, although there are probably 4382190478932 internet threads comparing the two anyway.
What's weirder is that don't care for Zep, but I enjoy the 'Zep-clones' like Great White, and Whitesnake

The Who all the way, mainly because I'm British.

Presence is a curious thing, if you think you need to prove it... you probably never had it in the first place.

*scratches his head*
You really don't know what you're talking about most of the time, do you? Led Zeppelin is just as British as The Who.
|
yeah but The Who boast about it, Plus all their songs are on the CSI intros, and I've never seen Led Zeppelin boast about being jolly 'ol British!
Ninja edit: oh and I'm not really intrested in Led Zepp. so I didn't really know they're British (if they even are, to Wikipedia!)
