I never got to vote because I clicked to see the results and now it won't go back to the voting screen...tell Spoony a week before the poll closes and he'll make a thread at clanwars urging people to vote and "yes" will have the majority...not that it should really matter on something this obvious.

lol

Correction, no one cares for really competitive gameplay Wink

STFU, I don't see why the opinions of people that throw a party when they manage to get MVP should count.

You could make a vote about implementing a turning MRLS turret and you'll have a big chunk of you idiots voting "yes".

So im guessing it will be disabled by default then? (since no won).

If we leave it open for a bit longer, yes will maybe win... It's quite clear that the difference between the "yes" and "no" is really minimal.

So because you believe it should be fixed, and since your a mod, you can just leave it open untill the side you favor wins? Wow, biased much? thats pure bullshit.

You're missing the point. I'm not going to close anything as this isn't my poll and not my decision. What I mean is that if the difference is so close, it's not good to make a decision on a certain date. If he had said in advance: "poll will be open for x days", then that would have changed everything of course.

There's plenty of spots whereas if you remove outside PTs, you will pretty much never be able to disable a beacon in time if you encounter any beacon cover whatsoever. The barracks is especially vulnerable with it having only a single entrance, and that's on nearly any map. Any beacon on the rear end of it would be almost a guaranteed destruction. The back corner of the Refineries (near the tunnels) on Field when the base defenses are offline are also vulnerable.

to nuke behind bar on field, the agt must be down. and defending agt has nothing to do with pt's.

i noticed that when i saw someone doing it, so i started doing it too.. but i do it just because its possible. if you remove it, i will be fine with that.

i think it should be removed. i mean, it's unreasonable, can u watch tv if u turn it around? or can u play renegade by staring at the case of ur monitor? it's meant to be used from inside, so it should be fixed.

sorry for my english btw.

I agree, and I think the points fix is more controversial than fixing this.

This should be a no brainer fix since the points fix pretty much seemed to be that way.

The "No" side haven't provided any decent argument, so "Yes" wins by default.

I don't think you really need a "good argument" if everyone wants it to stay in the game.

I voted to remove it myself.

Come on though.
Whichever side leads in the poll should take it.

Taking it out is winning right?

I better check...wow...this is the closest poll ever.

Hello Everybody,

There has been some controversy about the ability to use the purchase terminals outside of the buildings. There have been arguments to fix this bug, and also arguments to leave it alone.

At this point, we're undecided if we should fix this issue, and we've decided to create a poll instead, to let the users decide.

Note that this fix can only apply to all stock maps, as all the maps have to be edited. Fan maps are not going to be fixed.

We'll also need a mapper to make this happen, so we're open for recruiting in this department.

Note that there will be either a "unfixpt" or a "fixpt" seperate patch available to keep everyone happy.. it's just the question which fix should be default..

Please keep the flaming in the other thread..

-mac

Edit by Goz:

In short what has been said in defense of the PT fix:
* they weren't meant to be;
* sbh nuke = 1.400 credits, it should have at least a chance of success;
* PT outside = advantage for GDI as Nod only has it on air (can be nuked anywhere on the runway anyway) and the oby whereas GDI has it on agt, bar, wf. On most maps it's usable for GDI, only on a few maps for Nod;
* people can and will adapt their strategies to this, which will give a new flow of strategies for Renegade.

Things said against it:
* it will be nearly impossible to defend against some nukes (exemple: field barracks back);
* everyone is used to it/uses it, so why remove it?

I Voted Yes To Remove It Is Bug For Fucks Sake Just Remove It.

Leave the fix on by default and have an option to turn it off, same for Points fix, arguments over.

Well, it's 50/50 now: 73 votes vs 73. I think we really should give it a break now and consider 50/50 as a fair result...

What "us"? The no side haven't posted a single good argument against the PT fix.

The poll is redundant and it doesn't matter as there was no clear result. It wouldn't of matter if one side won over the other. What only matters is the discussions that have been going on in the thread.

Everyone who voted no tried to put up an argument, but was beaten back with it, therefore their votes become null and void. The final result is to remove the glitch because no one could provide a substantial reason not to.

if the "democracy" was inconclusive, surely it seems wise to judge the winner by which side made the best arguments... as if that's hard to determine.

fix it by default, but have an option to "unfix" it. simple as.

Votes are votes. You cannot simply void 73 votes due to the fact that none of the 'no' voters have put up a sufficient argument. Results now appear inconclusive, and when the poll is inconclusive, then there is no change. IMO, PT glitches should not be fixed.

However, since the arguments in this topic do lead towards the PT glitch being fixed, and if the people at EA or w.e. do decide to fix it, then i still believe that the server owners shud have an option as to whether or not they will have this pt glitch on or off due to the fact the votes are equal.

You should at least read the first post before posting. It has always been said that it would be optional, we were just voting for which one would be standard.
