It would be server sided, so its either on or off on a server.

Seeing as how it's been neck and neck this whole time, I say just to make it an option for server owners.

I don't get why the pointsfix is included by default, but this shouldn't be, or why this even had a poll (which is a flawed method, because I think the posts and reasons speak louder than a few ticks for "no" saying nothing to explain why, and we all know why they said nothing), yet the pointsfix didn't have a poll. There's no consistency. This is just as big a bug, if not bigger, than the pointsfix. The two together are probably the biggest as far as gameplay goes. I get the idea that if the outside PT fix is released a few optional maps not by default, that hardly anyone will use them, thus this bug won't really be fixed in Renegade. The "real, official" version being fixed to how it should be is how it, well, should be. Let the ones who want the bug add it, just like is being done with the pointsfix. Don't forget, this fix will only work on the default Westwood maps anyway (since the maps have to be edited), and there will be an auto-downloader, so custom maps should become more popular, so this still won't be completely fixed anyway.

Understand something. The poll was just to prove a point. It isn't going to democratically decide what we do.

I can't be bothered to read through all of this, but I doubt my position is hardly unique.

I've been playing this game since it came out. I see no reason why it shouldn't be fixed at all. Sure its a nice time saver, but thats all. I have seen games with almost no players where someone disarms in time and fully loaded games of 32+ where a base full of retards (some already being engies/techs) couldn't disarm a nuke at the back of the bar when they should have been able to. Anywhere in any spot in the default map's bases should be disarmable without PT glitch if your team is competent. Anyone who relies solely on this method to defend their base is doing it wrong and needs a FAIL pic to be slapped on their ass.

I also think GDI being able to buy a hotwire for a bar back nuke at the spot is fairly inconsistent, even though common and I use it a few times when my team is slow. It is exactly like having a PT at the end of the airstrip for Nod when GDI takes that route and would further prove skill at the game to beat without that.
Also when sniping, it afford snipers and engineers,...well everyone some advantages that otherwise wouldn't be there, and this is more prevalent on GDI than Nod. Take Islands for example, it takes longer to refill as a Nodling than it does a GDI to simply walk up to the WF whos PT is already as close as it can get without a PT glitch.

Just backing up my reasons with examples is all. If the naysayers can't come up with at least some decent reasons why a glitch that was unintended should be kept, I wouldn't be surprised. (doesn't look like it IMO)

There's certain things in the game that make it interesting. Small exploits like PT's outside are the things that keep the game interesting. No one wants a plain game. It doesn't need fixing.

I strongly disagree, it has made the game predictable and stale to expect half a teamful of GDI not to go to the inside the bar and then outside, but to just swarm the back and cover while everyone buys engies from the glitch. All other glitches are just a 4 second time saver where you don't have to travel a few more feet through a door like the WF, AGT, and airstrip. I honestly think the lazier players support this nonfix, and wouldn't care to work up the effort to find a beacon in time when they know they can cut corners.

The only interesting thing I see is the mixed reactions from the newer players like, "WTF how they do that" and "hax! you can't do that" and "thats not fair blah blah blah"

I honestly think if the point fix is implemented, then there's no question this should be.

To me, this one is first in line, and point fix should take a back seat to this.

Well, it doesn't matter which you think should be done first... the points fix is done and has been done for over a year now, so there is no need to determine its priority.

Definitely should be fixed. There is no computer terminal on the outside of a building, therefore you are not meant to be able to access them from the outside.

As for not being able to reach nukes in time because of the PT position in location to the nuke/ion, that is a crap argument.

First of all, there is more than 1 structure on all the default maps, so if you can't get from a PT in the structure under attack, try from a PT in another structure. So if the nuke is set behind the bar, instead of running into the bar to change class just to run around the back of the structure, why not go into the WF or the nearest structure and accessible PT and change?

Secondly, what if you don't even need the PT? What if you are already a hotwire/technician/engineer? The point of being on a team is to make sure people are filling various roles. If no one can reach the nuke in time because no one is an engineer and they need to run to a PT to change to a class that can disarm it, then you deserve to lose your structure.

Why is there a vote in the first place? It's a more obvious glitch than the green points and that's getting fixed. 90% of the people voting here have no clue about competitive gameplay...jeez.

lol

If we leave it open for a bit longer, yes will maybe win... It's quite clear that the difference between the "yes" and "no" is really minimal.

That is, if you go by the votes, it won. If you go by the arguments, it's clear which side won.

Either way, I thought the poll wasn't even being used as anything in deciding whether or not this happens, but rather to prove something Tiberium Technologies has discussed internally.
