Those are amazing! They'd be nicer if the photographer used a shift-lens to get the verticals vertical, but they are still stunning!

Hehe, you can actually see the building where I work in the very first picture, and picture nine.
I have to say, that picture is deceptive, London is such a shithole. That picture makes the streets look almost romantic, the reality is the previous days "working lunch" splattered all over the pavement with some stumpy legged pidgeon pecking it for food, with a Polish builder staring at it whilst scratchig his hairy ass talking to his Indian mate.
The whole landscape is covered with cranes, it's filled with thieves and hiked up prices in all the shops and bars. It's so metropolitan you can hardly breathe for ethnic food stalls, not that you would want to breathe as there is a dubious layer of hazey grey smog in the air that seems to pop up from time to time in the Summer.
I hate it.
Commuting sucks ass too. If you work between 07:30 and 20:00 then you have no option but to stand on the train all the way in, stuffed up against some smelly fuckers arm-pit. The underground is even worse... When you leave the station, blow your nose... You get black boogers from all the polluted air!
To work in the city you need to be a dialect guru, because no two people speak with the same accent.
If you want to drive in the city, then as well as paying road tax, you have to pay a congestion charge which is unbelievable.
Sure you can cycle, but the fatality rates for these guys are soaring (and transport for london is actually trying to get more people on there bikes?.. Go figure!).
I wouldn't want to buy a house in the city, but if you did, then expect to pay through the nose for a two bedroomed flat, anything upwards of 280,000 pound sterling will buy you something small and crappy.
The only good thing about London that I can think of is all the theatre's. I really like live acting and shows. But when you leave theres a horde of illegal immigrants ready to pick your pocket and take you on there bycycle come converted carriage type deal, which is extortianely over priced, illegal and dangerous (not that I have once seen the police do anything about it, as they know they're an illegal immigrant and it would be too much hassle trying to arrest them and take them through the system).
Don't bother with London people. It's so over-rated.

London is quite great for tourists. Done it twice and I liked it quite a lot. But it's expensive, like any major city, tbh.

Hmm, I've been to London a few times, the latest time was with a group of teenagers from my church, to go to a special charity function thing near the houses of Parliament - we went down in the morning to St Pancras (yes, pancreas, har har) which is very nice and modern, and then spent the day travelling around to see all the sights. Camden market's an awesome place to visit, and walking around near Harrods or the houses of Parliament it was busy, but not really dirty. And I didn't get mugged / pickpocketed once!
Then again, where I live here in Chesterfield I think is boring and old-fashioned most of the time, but people who visit think it's wonderful. Maybe I should become a drifter or something.

Well I went there a few months back and I thought it's just as much of a shit hole as Liverpool so yeah, mainly because I'm from the city, But again I think Oxford is the dogs bollocks, the little villages around it, that is.
damn, I want to live in Oxford so bad.
Presence is a curious thing, if you think you need to prove it... you probably never had it in the first place.

Yeah, I don't understand why the local English authorities are so smug over spending money. For example, when it comes to F1 racing, England is pretty much going to lose the British Grand Prix because they have nobody willing to pay to upgrade the facilities. And that would a big freaking shame.
But I think they will do something to be ready for the Olympics though 2 several prominent Englishmen have said they don't think London would make something as good as Beijing.
