Hi, everytime I change my control settings to different keys they work while I'm playing ren, but when I restart it, the controls are back to default. It's pretty annoying tbh.

Sounds like you have Vista? Do you? It happens to me too but always run in Administrator mode.
Start Ren in Admin mode, make the changes and quit. Then you restart it in Admin mode and the changes would there.
You can go to right-click icon --> Properties --> Compatability --> and make sure you check ON the Run this program as an administrator box
And you should be fine. This used to happen to me as well. I would always turn off the Music but the settings won't save and I could still hear music. But running in Admin mode solves these.

oh lol it just strikes me!
Do you have the key settings saved? You have to save it.
You configure your keys, then save it and give it a name. Then you use that saved key configuration.
Make changes and click on that button:
Then type unique name for the configuration. I already have one saved for sniping:
So far it sounds to me like you are making the key changes but then not saving it. That's why you keep going back to setting them up again.
Once you save, then it stays that way unless you choose to use the default settings.

I do keep saving them, I've saved them about 20 times, my Renegade>Data>Config has 20 configs in it and they all say the key arrangement that I'd like..That's why I'm so baffled.

well every once in a while I DO back up my folder, but if I just used the exact same reNegade folder, that'll just take away the
Point of reinstalling in the
First place.
