It's because there's such an oil interest there. It is possible it could erupt into something larger, granted not too likely. But it isn't totally un-pheasible.

It wasn't too long ago, that people believed the next 'cold war' would involve the United States, and China. However, China is totally dependent upon the American economy doing well, and America is totally dependent on cheap goods from China to help stave off the effects of inflation, and keep a high standard of living.
Because the world is so interconnected by money, business, trade, and communication, there is little chance of there ever being another war on the scale of the previous world wars.
However, I am worried about Russia's actions, because they help demonstrate to the world how powerless America, and NATO are at this moment.

Just like the Great War was the last war ever because its participants were so horrified at losing almost an entire generation of soldiers? That one was called "The War to End All Wars," you know. All it took was a few power-hungry dictators to banish that notion, and we've been calling the Great War "World War I" ever since.
Humans have had wars as long as they've had nations and armies to fight them with, and the bigger the nations get the higher the cost of war rises. The only thing international interdependency means is that the next war will be just that much more devastating to everyone- don't be fool enough to believe it means there will never be another World War. Remember that both WWI and WW2 began with relatively minor border disputes that escalated catastrophically because of stupid, preventable mistakes and hubris. Thinking that it could never happen again is the surest way to make certain that it does.
How close are we to it? Depends on who you ask. I'd say "too close for comfort."
"Arms discourage and keep the invader and plunderer in awe, and preserve order in the world as well as property. Horrid mischief would ensue were (the law-abiding) deprived of the use of them." - Thomas Paine
Remember, kids: illiteracy is cool. If you took the time to read this, you are clearly a loser who will never get laid. You've been warned.

I don't know what you've been reading but apparently Russia are somehow helping Georgia people (Hilarious fox news report on it, but some kids states it)
now it's not every day you see a American kid, primarily American kid, saying "Thanks to Russia for helping us" (we all know America hates Russia but I'm being a generalizing asshole here) so yeah, haven't been keeping up with the Russian war but eh - it's nothing.
Presence is a curious thing, if you think you need to prove it... you probably never had it in the first place.

WTF! Just shut up please, as you are talking out of your asses. He hasn't declared war or anything and you idiots are going fuck you for something he hasn't done. Wait I know, lets blame this conflict on Bush, demand he do something about it, and then blame him when he trys to finish what he started. Its all the same with you liberals so shut up before someone picks your arguments to pieces.

.. not sure about you but Bush is a moron and a tool.
The choices he makes are definitely suggested to him, He always forgets his speeches and says the wrong thing.. stuck his middle finger up on TV and uhh.. oh yeah, has the mind of a 12 year old.
I'd say 5 year old but 12 does it's justice.
We don't hate him because he's a prick, just unfit to be a president of the worlds 'most richest country'
