Yes, the photographs and videos of the dead bodies of Saddam's sons are out. What we have now is a raging hypocrisy on the part of America. Back in the "war," Iraqis aired pictures of our dead soldiers, and we protested of the action, of course - although now we have our own pictures, aired on an even greater scale. Some Iraqis wanted proof of their death - but did we really have to upset much of the Arab world in showing them?

http://slate.msn.com/id/2086023/ - "The military claims that the publication of Odai's and Qusai's photos was necessary in order to prove to the Iraqi public that the pair were dead. But as Explainer noted in March, the Geneva Convention prohibits the public airing of pictures that might humiliate a combatant—the same justification the United States used to object to broadcasting interrogations of American POWs"

Iraq, conventional-military-wise, yes. If the Iraqi situation was over, however, then soldiers and civilians wouldn't continue to be having their lives taken away. The moment silence rules over is the moment when others seize power, broken free of the restraint of opinion. Hey, it's a human world.

As for the pictures, it can be easily seen as a shining trophy held highly by America. Surely, we need to show what we accomplished over there (you know how world opinions go), but to broadcast it because of a few people questioning the claim of the Hussein sons' deaths, spurring even more anti-American views in the Arab world? Saddam and his sons committed too many acts that are sickening on a moral scale, yet we now parade the bodies of dead, mutilated (and reconstructed) humans.

Pictures of a fallen warrior are one thing. Honor should be given to those who fell in the line of duty, to those who give their lives to save others or to protect those around them. Saddam's sons have done neither. Why should America honor those who fight with none? Terrorists and their followers don't deserve the same respect given to a solider who died in combat, be they American or Iraqi. That's not the issue. The question is why would you show honor to men accustomed to sowing death and destruction merely for thier own amusement? The Middle East is an area fraught with hostility and open conflict. Our alliance with Isreal is a primary reason for a lot of the anti-America sentiments in the Middle East. Why are we trying to appease a people that can't be appeased? I can recall another instance where appeasement was tried. World War II isn't exactly a shining reminder of how well it works. These two men were cowards and terrorists. They deserved what they got, and an example was made of them. Prove to the world that they are dead, and you lessen the odds of others springing up in their place.

Horrible characters, but human beings. I don't suggest honor, but decency. If someone wants to see the image, show it to them. If someone doesn't, don't. Appeasement is not what I call on for this situation, either. We are far from it, too - our "war on terrorism" is still in full effect, that is, we aren't sitting around in idleness anymore. Imagine a native person in the Middle East, living their life peacefully, seeing the images on a television somewhere - another reason to have an anti-America feeling, because America invaded their life with an untraditional act with a gruesome bringing. They didn't ask it - maybe they did believe us the first time.

From what I've seen, the U.S. isn't exactly flashing around the photos all over the place. And let me ask you this. What is the point of decency in this case? This ins't a P.R. campaign, and the Arab world already has a very negative view of the U.S. In fact, if the U.S. didn't prove their deaths, someone would probably commit acts in their names and claim they were still alive. To the Arab world, that would be seen as a victory over the capitalist demon giant of the west. Not only would that make things worse, but then more people would be willing to commit the same atcs becasue they would see no retribution for their acts. An example has to be made to show that the world will not tolerate this kind of terrorism and blatant disreguard for others. If not, then more and more of this sort of thing will occur. It's human nature.

I don't think English classes can help me with that one.

Another human instinct is to love. However, that's now ushered into talentless songs on the radio and not many people can show their emotions in public anymore. America does have to take a stern stance on terrorism, but it shouldn't forget kindness. I know, we saved Iraqis galore, but that doesn't justify everything else. If terrorist acts can be committed in the name of Hussein, then surely they can be enacted out of revenge. And no, I would never want to see that happen.

This kinda stuff doesn't affect them as much as you and I. The Arab world is pretty used to violence and dead bodies.

I'm sure the Iraqis tormented by these two don't mind either.

And our hailed display of dead bodies really makes it better. We're already out to cease the spread of destruction and death as birthed through terrorists, whether they're humiliated (and in a bout of possibility enraged) or not.

Ok. "don't know how you coulnt inturpret what i said." This first sentence is a fragment, lacking a direct object. "Couldnt" and "inturpret" are spelled in an incorrect manner, and "I" is not capitalized. "I mixed this with there up..." cannot have its meaning be deciphered by me. "...maybe you should take more english classes." In this last part, you only did one thing wrong, leaving "English" uncapitalized.
