Sick Of Typing Getting Erased[ 14 votes ]
1.	Change It Like Other Forums So Wont Erase	9 / 64%
2.	Dont Change It (If You Like Lot Of Hell)	5 / 36%

Who else is sick of typing big ass post but then when you hit back...or connection times out or site fuck up or wont let you post saying for you to wait XXX secs before posting then come to find out all that you typed got erased....its not like this on other fourms

Forgive me for not fully understanding your post, but if for example you type loads, click post and it screws up, you just click the back button and your browser should load from your computer what you just browsed away from.

Can't you just hit F5 and tell it to resend post data if you get an error of some kind right after posting?

I never had any problems with this anyway... In general I think FUD is one of the worst forums I've used though, in buggyness and incovenience.

When I make posts that are large, I copy them to the clip board before I click the post button. Sometimes it doesn't work, so I just hit the refresh button and the post still goes through.

If nothing happens, then I just make a new post and paste what I have on my clipboard.

Use Firefox 3, if you go back a page when the data is lost, it remembers what you typed, you can also undone changes or just copy and paste.

For me it only works for non-textarea form fields (FF3). All text boxes are saved but the actual message is gone, although that's usually the only thing that is really important to save... :/

If you fear for double posting you could open another window/tab and look whether your post is there prior to refreshing. Or just edit it out and ask a mod to delete it... As TD said it's better than losing a long post. Wink

You've obviously never used the EVE Online forums. Suffice to say that these forums aren't the only ones which have a habit of losing submittable fields' contents after being submitted.

Now I come to think of it, my university "discussion board" that is part of blackboard is quite bad as well. Worse than FUD actually... I couldn't see any posts for half a year simply because there was no "firefox support": well, stop using stupid AJAX stuff for simple things like displaying posts then... Sigh.

Yeah, done that as a habit for every forum.

Also, Nexon forums (MapleStory, Mabinogi, Combat Arms, other games like that) are terrible also. No edit button, and oftenly, posts will randomly go to a completely different topic, etc.
